Earth Wisdom Teachings…

…are a timeless body of knowledge and perspectives common to all Aboriginal People world-wide. These Teachings have evolved from the beginning, when Humanity was living solely in direct contact with Nature. Today, as we Humans struggle to live in balance with Mother Nature, these Teachings are uniquely useful as a wholistic and personal cosmology that can help bring balance and clarity to all aspects of anyone’s life.

The 3 basic principles Earth Wisdom teachings are:

1. everything is connected and related - hence the prayer, “All My Relations”

2. the Sacred Human’s life-long task is to intentionally develop a good relationship with every-thing they encounter - both visible and invisible

3. understand and make peace with “Life-for-Life” or “Life-Feeds-Life”. Within the intimate connection and relatedness of all things, is the Universal principle that each thing must and will, as needed, kill and consume its relatives to continue its well-being and survival. We must accept and make peace with this intimate part of our Universe.

Earth Wisdom Teachings can be learned in many informal ways by spending time on the land with knowledgeable humans. The Teachings can also be learned via formal teaching ceremonies. Currently, the Life-for-Life teaching ceremony is offered at the Farm each Fall season in conjunction with deer bow-hunting season. Formal 2-year Earth Wisdom Teaching ceremonies will begin as trainees come forward and the time is ready.

Because of their Wholistic nature, Earth Wisdom teachings compliment and broaden one’s understanding of Regenerative Grazing & Agriculture practices.
